NOTE: This is a version of "Pop-up Video," which happens to be my favorite TV show. It is a show where music videos are shown, and little known facts are told in "Bubbles." This is sorta like that, except I am showing Bloopers and little known facts of the movie Titanic and the real ship.

SEE:

Jack being restricted from the worship services held in the 1st class Dining Saloon.

BUBBLE:

(The worship services held in the Dining Saloon on Sunday, April 14th were open to all passengers, of all classes. )

SEE:

Jack looking out of a porthole in the Master-at-arms office.

BUBBLE:

(On Titanic, the Master-at-arms office was interior. Therefore, it wouldn't have a porthole.)

SEE:

Old Rose looking at her television.

BUBBLE (Arrow pointing to the reflection in Rose's TV) (Crew is visible)

SEE:

Titanic docked at Southampton.

BUBBLE (With arrow pointing to the space in between Titanic and the dock) ( A strip of desert is visible )

SEE:

Jack rushing to make sure he catches the Titanic before it sails. Many other steerage passengers board along side him.

BUBBLE:

(All steerage passengers were aboard well before the ship sailed; first class passengers did not begin boarding until all the steerage passengers were aboard. )

SEE:

The Titanic's middle propeller moving while maneuvering in the Southampton port

BUBBLE (w/ arrow pointing to propeller) (This would have been stationary when starting away from the dock, for it was not used. )

SEE AND HEAR:

Captain Smith ordering, "Take her to sea, Mr. Murdoch -- let's stretch her legs"

BUBBLE:

( They are standing to the right of the wheelhouse looking forward with the sun coming from their left. When Murdoch walks into the wheelhouse to carry out the order, the sun is behind him. )

SEE:

Rose putting out her paintings

BUBBLE:

( Rose's paintings include Picasso's "Les Demoiselles d'Avignon", one of the ballerinas series by Degas, and "Water Lilies" by Claude Monet, none of which were ever on the Titanic. )

HEAR:

Old Rose say, but we all called her Molly.

(Margaret Brown was never referred to as "Molly" until after her death. )

SEE:

Jack and Rose are walking on the promenade the day after he rescues her.

BUBBLE (w/ arrow pointing over Jack's shoulder) A small hill with a building on it is visible over Jack's shoulder and above the ship.

SEE:

'Jack's hands' sketching Rose.

BUBBLE:

( These hands are clearly too old to belong to Jack. They actually belong to director James Cameron.)

SEE:

A shot of Rose's view of the Statue of Liberty from a ship

BUBBLE:

( To obtain a view as indicated she would have to be on land. )

SEE:

Rose giving Lovejoy a rather 'unladylike gesture.'

BUBBLE:

( The "middle finger" gesture was used as early as the late 19th century. )

SEE:

Madame Aubert in the Dining Saloon with Mr. Guggenhiem.

BUBBLE:

( Benjamin Guggenheim's mistress, Madame Aubert, never dined in the First-class )
( Dining Saloon; she took all of her meals in the a la Carte restaurant on B Deck. )

SEE:

Thomas Andrews dining with some of the big-shots on Titanic.

BUBBLE:

(Thomas Andrews never dined with any of the (historic) people shown in the movie to have dined with him in the Cafe Paresien. (examples- Molly Brown, Bruce Ismay, etc.) He did, however dine with actress Dorothy Gibson and her mother, and also a newlywed couple named the Dicks.)

SEE:

Tommy Ryan.

BUBBLE:

(There was some truth to the names of the fictional characters in the movie Titanic. There was a 3rd class man named Edward Ryan, (who is said to have cross-dressed to get on a lifeboat. He survived.) a trimmer named James Dawson, (his job was to even out the piles of coal in the boiler rooms. He perished in the sinking.) and Charles Dahl. (The character Helga Dahl is what I'm talking about. She was a fictional 3rd class passenger from Norway. I think in the movie she liked Fabrizio. The real Charles Dahl survived.) I also have a basis for my main character in my story 'My Titanic Diary.' (Although I didn't know until a friend told me.) My main character's name is Alanna Gibson. There was a few Gibsons on Titanic. There was Dorothy Gibson and her mother. They were saved. Dorothy Gibson went on to make silent films, and was in one called 'Saved from the Titanic' released about a month after the sinking. She starred as herself. She died in 1946, in Paris, France from a heart attack.

She was in:

1.Saved From the Titanic (1912) .... as Miss Dorothy
2.Revenge of the Silk Masks (1912)
3.Easter Bonnet, The (1912) )

BUBBLE:
